Museums
The best of both worlds: go back in time at the Batavialand museum and visit the VOC ship Batavia. Or take a flight into the future at the Aviodrome aviation museum. Lelystad has several museums for young and old.
Featured: Batavialand
Go back centuries in time at Batavialand, the museum of Flevoland.
Museum Batavialand is about discovering, about daring and about doing. A visit to Batavialand is a journey of discovery for the whole family. Let yourself be transported to the world of historic shipbuilding, crafts and the 17th century.
You can step aboard an impressive replica of one of the most famous Dutch ships, the VOC ship Batavia. But you can also play all kinds of old Dutch games there, for example. Batavialand is about life on the border of land and water. It shows what our struggle with water has meant for our country. In this way children learn everything about water management in a playful way and they can test their knowledge about water. Special theme weekends are organized in the summer, with appealing themes such as water, trade, rigging and ships.
