In the middle of the dike!
Roadhouse CheckPoint Charlie is located in the middle of the dike between the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer! Ideal for a stop on the way. Originally, the entire Markermeer was to be impoldered. In 1989, CheckPoint Charlie was realized here, on the initiative of Henk Zwaan. This restaurant has been in the hands of the Schreuder family since November 2002.
Every day, the organization behind Roadhouse Checkpoint Charlie takes 1000 liters of fresh drinking water and groceries with them. Quite an undertaking at such a location. Although this limits them in their culinary adventures, they do have a simple, but neat menu.
Just take a look at their menu! Can be found via www.roadhousecheckpointcharlie.nl/food. From classics such as North Sea fish soup to schnitzel and more. On their drinks menu (www.roadhousecheckpointcharlie.nl/dranken) you can see that they serve tea, coffee from freshly ground UTZ beans, soft drinks, wine, snacks and much more.
They cook with all allergens and are happy to make some vegetarian for you too.
