Pontos was founded on April 25, 1978 in Lelystad. In the first years, rowing was carried out from an emergency facility at the Noordersluis, but Pontos has been located at the Gelders Diep since 1984.

Pontos is a rowing club where enthusiastic members from Lelystad in particular, but also Dronten and Swifterbant, practice rowing together.
It is a very diverse association with members in all age categories. From the moment you fit into one of our boats responsibly, until old age, rowing remains a sport that you can really enjoy. The for-and-by members approach appeals to many people and contributes to the cozy club atmosphere. Centrally located in Flevoland, we can sail through the entire polder. But we can also often be found outside Flevoland at events, competitions and tours. We even go outside the Netherlands every year to, for example, undertake tours abroad.
