Uitkijkpunt De Zeearend – Oostvaardersplassen
This large viewing point has two floors and offers you a view over the large plain and the reed marsh of the Oostvaardersplassen. You can see everything here: from great egret to fox, from red deer to bittern. Fish eagles and white-tailed eagles are also regularly seen from this hut.
From Buitencentrum Oostvaarders it is a fifteen minute walk to this vantage point.
Tip: Walking route Sea Eagle
The Zeearend walking route leads through the Triangle, to the large observation hut De Zeearend and past the bird viewing screen Wigbels Eiland. There you have more than 2.5 km of unobstructed views over the Oostvaardersplassen. In the Triangle you have the chance to encounter red deer and konik horses. The harriers also look for food, gracefully and low above the ground. In the reeds and other bushes you have the chance to see and hear bearded men, goldfinches and reed warblers. If you come across an animal: enjoy the encounter, but stay at least 25 meters away.
Bird hide de Zeearend has been adapted for wheelchair users. The route is open from mid-May to December.
