For many years, WV het Bovenwater has been an association with a regional function, which has an important focus on it
youth sailing. Fun in water sports is the reason for our existence. The association has beautiful grounds with good facilities. The water we use is excellent for open boat classes. The association has a dispensation from the municipality and the water board to guide sailors with motor boats. Furthermore, no other motorized vessels are allowed on the Bovenwater. This makes the environment very suitable for young people who want to learn the basics of sailing in a safe way. We do this by training in the optimist from level CWO1 to CWO3.
The association has a long tradition in the development of youth sailing. Many children once started in optimism for their CWO1 diploma and grew into sailors who measured themselves regionally and (inter) nationally with other sailing talents. A
number of classes are supported by training and competitions at the association; such as the optimist, splash, laser 4.7 and laser radial. In the two-person classes there are the RS feva and the 420. Our association has the ambition to grow the two-person classes as well.
Not everyone enjoys measuring their strengths with others around the buoys. Our water is ideal for relaxation. A recreation committee organizes various activities for this purpose, and also invites others to get acquainted with sailing by means of boarding days. We have a fleet of six centaurs at our disposal and there are also many members with their own boat, who are happy to bring someone with them.
In addition to the youth sailing lessons, adults and older youth can also learn to sail at our association. A team of instructors will let you enjoy the pleasure of water sports together with others in a pleasant way. By taking the lessons you will become proficient in the
sailing skills, until you can sail independently. After that you can work on more insight and more skills. A great trajectory for parents, for example, whose child goes sailing and does not have that experience from their childhood. This way you will soon be able to enjoy sailing with your child and do it together.
