Equestrian trails and routes
The Lelystadse forests are ideally suited for a nice varied forest ride. Unfortunately, not all routes are available digitally yet, but via Outdoorriding.nl or Riding & Driving Is it possible to plan a nice route?
The starting point of the routes in the Gelderse Hout and Overijsselse Hout forest areas, on the eastern edge of Lelystad, is Riding school Lelystad. Located at Hoefslag 1. There is ample parking space for your car and trailer and you can enjoy delicious snacks, tasty sandwiches or a refreshing drink in the canteen or on the terrace.

Horse Platform Lelystad (PPL)
The Horse Platform Lelystad is an independent partnership of recreational outdoor riders, drivers, equestrian entrepreneurs and riding associations in Lelystad. As the interest representative of all equestrian athletes, the PPL is actively and constructively committed to safe, well-maintained and connected riding and driving paths in all Lelystad city forests. The PPL is the discussion partner for the Municipality of Lelystad and Staatsbosbeheer and is supported and advised by the KNHS (Royal Dutch Equestrian Sports Federation).

Riding school Lelystad
Manege Lelystad is located in a wooded area and has about 35 riding school horses and ponies.
The riding school provides riding lessons, pony riding lessons and a stable for horses and ponies.
They are a 4 star and 'safety certified' FNRS (Federation of Dutch Rider Sports Centres) riding school. Courses are taught by certified horse riding instructors.
