The most beautiful areas of Lelystad
New Land National Park
Consisting of four unique nature reserves, Nieuw Land National Park is the largest man-made nature park in the world. Oostvaardersplassen, Lepelaarplassen, the Markermeer and the Marker Wadden all owe their existence to the largest reclamation project in the world: the reclamation of Flevoland.
Marker Wadden

Oostvaardersplassen
At the bottom of the former Zuiderzee, a nature reserve has been created that is unparalleled in Europe: the Oostvaardersplassen. Tens of thousands of birds come here to refuel or find their nesting place during bird migration. All kinds of wild animals traverse the plains here.
Nature Park Lelystad
Face to face with a herd of Przewalski horses or a group of rooting pigs? Discover many special animal species in a beautiful setting in Nature Park Lelystad.
Work island
Welcome to a unique chapter in Dutch history. The Werkeiland is the place where Lelystad started. The battle against the waters of the Zuiderzee was won here when the first pile, called plot P, was driven into the IJsselmeer on October 31, 1949. This was to indicate where the Werkeiland should be located.
