The Flevo landscape has renovated its visitor center in Lelystad Nature Park. The large grazers that live in the Nature Park have been put in the spotlight in the visitor center. You can admire them up close, get to know their sounds and learn more about their behavior. In short: come inside and see more outside.

Father David's deer, red deer, elk, Przewalski's horse and bison are the pride of the Nature Park. These large grazers have been admired here for decades. In the visitor center you can now learn more about these animals in an interactive way.

Nature experience coordinator Norbert Kwint of Het Flevo-landen: “The visitor center was in need of an update. We have put the large grazers center stage in an innovative way. Admire them, mounted, up close, look at their differences, listen to the bellowing of the different types of deer and dare to put your hand in a tactile box. In the new exhibition you will also learn about the differences in their grazing behavior. And you can take a picture with it.”

Opening
The official opening on Wednesday, February 14, was performed by deputy Harold Hofstra, Lelystad councilor Sjaak Kruis and Philip Makkink, director of Het Flevo-landen.

Makkink: “With this innovation we offer visitors a new way to experience the large grazers and nature. And because the exhibition is more interactive, you get to work on it yourself.” This also included foreign visitors, the number of whom is clearly increasing. Information is available for them in English and German.

The exhibition can be visited daily from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. and at weekends from 10:00 a.m. in the visitor center of Nature Park Lelystad, Vlotgrasweg 11 in Lelystad.

The new exhibition was made possible in part by the National Postcode Lottery.
