Optimist on Tour moors in Lelystad

Children who get excited about activities on the water, such as supping, canoeing or sailing, can put 19 to 21 April in their agenda. In that weekend, Optimist on Tour will come to water sports club Het Bovenwater in Lelystad! On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays immediately after school, anyone between the ages of 8 and 12 can practice water sports for free under the guidance of experienced and certified instructors. In addition, the participants in the activities immediately learn all about water.

Free on the water
Optimist on Tour Lelystad is an initiative of the municipality of Lelystad, water sports association Het Bovenwater, the province of Flevoland and the Water Sports Association. Primary school children from the region come with their class to Optimist on Tour on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday to get acquainted with canoeing, supping and sailing. They are taught by certified instructors from the Water Sports Association. The only thing the children need is a swimming certificate A. Optimist on Tour takes care of the rest!

After school for everyone!
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, children between the ages of 8 and 12, together with their friends, can participate in Optimist on Tour for free from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You can register via the website optimistontour.nl/inschrijven or on location. In both cases, permission from a parent/guardian and swimming certificate A are conditions for participation.

After registration, participants receive a life jacket and follow a short theory lesson on the shore. Then they can sit at the helm of an Optimist, canoe or sup.

Professor in the Water LaboratoryAfter the children have been on the water, they can visit the Water Laboratory. Children who are fans of water sports, but do not yet dare to try it themselves, can also enjoy themselves here. In the Waterlab, all water fans spontaneously turn into real researchers with a white coat, glasses and pipettes to do all kinds of experiments with water. For example, why do iron drawing pins float on water? And how do you purify water so that you can drink it? With these experiments, children learn about clean water and a sustainable future. The Water Laboratory travels with Optimist on Tour to all locations.
