Hiking trail Zuigerplasbos
A lovely walk through the Zuigerplasbos, a nature reserve of 290 hectares on the northern edge of Lelystad.
During the reclamation of Eastern Flevoland, the Zuigerplas was created by sand extraction for the IJsselmeer dike and Houtrib locks. The first planting of the forest took place in 1964, after the reclamation of Eastern Flevoland in the late 1950s. Because the Zuigerplasbos borders the buildings of Lelystad, plenty of space has been made for recreation from the start. And with success. For example, a park-like entity has been created around the lake, surrounded by forest. A combination of greenery and water, which many residents of Lelys enjoy.
