Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad opens its doors
LELYSTAD – Exactly one week ago on Wednesday 10 August, the time had finally come: The brand new and 115th Van der Valk Hotel in Lelystad opened its doors to the first hotel guests.
They could check in from 3 p.m. The entrance, which leads to the reception, was festively decorated with balloons and on arrival all hotel guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbles.
At 3.30 pm everyone was kindly requested to gather in front of the hotel for the official opening. General Manager Danielle Hunink – Van den Nieuwenhuijzen gave a beautiful speech and her grandmother Toos van der Valk proudly spoke a few words during this event. Then the moment was finally there. The 'golden' scissors were handed over to grandma Toos and she had the honor of cutting the ribbon. With loud applause and the necessary confetti, the Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad was finally officially opened.
Until August 14, the hotel was only open for hotel guests. As of this week, it is also possible for non-hotel guests (on reservation) to have lunch, dinner and/or drinks in the restaurant, the lobby bar or on the terrace. Of course you are always welcome for a good cup of coffee.Facilities
Despite the fact that all hotel employees are eager to get started, some of them still have to be patient for a while. The lobby bar (Bistrobar Madame) and the restaurant (Restaurant SUYD) are already open for hotel guests, but the Weleda City Spa will open its doors next Thursday, August 18. Although the majority of the hotel building is finished, various things are still being worked on enthusiastically. Fortunately, guests who are currently staying overnight at Van der Valk Hotel Lelystad will experience little or no inconvenience.
