Secret of Lelystad: Balls and Arrows

SECRET OF LELYSTAD

Monday, July 4, 2022

Last Friday was the eleventh Secret of Lelystad. And what a secret! Balls and Arrows is ten years old. A milestone that was of course celebrated in a big way. All Lelysted residents were therefore invited to the special open day.

From 2.30 pm to 8 pm there was plenty to do, experience and see, such as 3D archery, baking sandwiches over the fire, an Airsoft demonstration and laser gaming. All the ingredients for a wonderful birthday party were present.

The birthday party was well attended, many Lelysted residents came to the open day. Some had been to Balls and Arrows before, for others it was their first time. The visitors from the latter group were all positively surprised. Very positive even, like Gerda, who was at the party with her children: "All that greenery makes it a wonderful place and that cozy and casual atmosphere provides a real holiday feeling. Also with my children. Not only the environment and the atmosphere were appreciated, the activities were also received very positively.

The free laser gaming was especially popular! Several children and adults even wanted to participate several times. Stan: "I was allowed to play the 2nd game with my brother against my father, that was fun. We shot Dad together and won! And the Airsoft demonstration was also a crowd puller and immediately aroused a lot of enthusiasm, as with the fourteen-year-old Sil: " I saw it and knew immediately: I want to do that once I'm 18!" Many other visitors were also enthusiastic about Airsoft. And that also applied to the culinary part of the open day: a pizza from a real wood oven and then enjoy a nice meal together in the open air "A perfect start to the weekend", according to one of the visitors. And that was it!
