Secret of Lelystad: The Polderkol

Last Pentecost weekend it was time for the Seventh Secret of Lelystad. And this time too it was a special place: De Polderkol.
This organic herb company is not one of the best-known places in Lelystad, not even among Lelysted residents. So it was a great moment for Lelystedelingen to discover this secret. Especially because there was also an official and especially festive touch to the weekend.
The visitor's garden was officially inaugurated on Saturday. Much to the delight of those present, who were shown around the garden and were pleasantly surprised. Such as Anja, who had come to De Polderkol with her daughter and grandson and did not know what she was seeing. “I have to admit that I didn't know it, but when I read about this secret I became curious. And how beautiful it is here! All those colors! And what a peace of mind!”, says Anja.

Besides Anja, more visitors were impressed by the garden. Rightly so. It is a beautiful flowery and colorful garden, a paradise for birds and insects. So it is teeming with life. Nature at its best. But beautiful colors and beautiful flowers are only a small part of what De Polderkol has to offer.
They offer numerous products of which herbs are an important part and are happy to share their knowledge about their healing properties. That was also the case last weekend. Visitor Peter was impressed: “Being here was not only fun, but also educational. It's unbelievable that herbs can do so much for your health and well-being. And that I can also buy it from a local entrepreneur," said Peter, who went home with a bag of invigorating bath salts and a herbal mixture for tea and said that he definitely wants to visit this special place more often.
