Secret of Lelystad: New Land Experience Oostvaardersplassen Lelystad
Sunday 8 May was an unforgettable day for a number of mothers. They were treated to the Nieuw Land Experience Oostvaardersplassen Lelystad. One of the Secrets of Lelystad. On this sun-drenched day, the participants got to know the Oostvaardersplassen of the Nieuwland National Park in a special way.
For example, they were picked up at the Bataviakwartier and taken to the ship's berth with the special Nieuw Land Bus. During the bus ride, they were surprised with a special VR experience. The beautiful cruise along the beautiful and untouched nature of the Nieuw Land National Park was, in a word, impressive. It is an area where many deer live and they were spotted from the ship. Another highlight of the cruise was the lock in the Noordersluis with no less than six meters drop. At the end of the cruise, the Oostvaardersveld, the participants were met by a guide from Staatsbosbeheer. During a pleasant and special walk he told us all about the Oostvaarderplassen and Przewalski horses were also spotted. The walk ended at the visitor center where everyone could enjoy the view from the lovely terrace. In the end, the ship took the participants to the Werkeiland, back on the bus to the Bataviakwartier, the end point of a special Mother's Day. “The combination of sailing and walking through nature with a guide who really knows everything, made this day a very special Mother's Day” Anita summed up the day nicely.
